In this fascinating autobiographical interview, Robert Sarah, one of the most unassuming cardinals of the Catholic Church, gives a unique testimony of his faith and discusses many of the events, challenges, and controversies of recent decades. The mission of the Church, the joy of the Gospel, the Popes, the modern world, Africa and the West, morality, truth, evil and God - always - are some of the themes that the cardinal approaches with great clarity and wisdom. The Cardinal Robert Sarah was born and spent his childhood in Guiné-Conacri, in the heart of a coniagui family. Inspired by the example of the Spiritan missionaries, who sacrificed so much to bring the Catholic faith to their remote village, their parents converted to Catholicism. Robert discerned his vocation to the priesthood and entered the very new seminary but, owing to persecution against the Church by the dictatorial Government of Sékou Touré, one of the most bloodthirsty in Africa, he continued his studies far from his homeland, France and neighboring Senegal. Graduated in Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, he later received a doctorate in Sacred Scripture from the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem.
