Brimming with light, the Shrine of Fatima's official rosary reminds everyone that Our Lady more brilliant than the sun became the bearer of the mysteries of Salvation, subject of contemplation for the whole humanity in motion, who goes on pilgrimage guided by the sign of the Cross.
Its blue beads, with which we pray the Hail Mary, reminds how the Mother of Heaven walks, step by step, as a pilgrim of each event of Her Son's life.
The gilded chain is an image of the Creator. Its gilded beads guide us in the prayer that Jesus taught, which makes us brothers and allows us to say: "Our Father..."
Based on the works of art which constitute the common heritage of the Pilgrims of Fatima, the rosary embodies the identity of this place where countless generations of pilgrims have been praying every day for the conversions of the hearts, for the peace in the world, and for the Church of Christ: the medallion shows the sculpture of the angel, in Loca do Cabeço, which invites to adoration, and the sculpture of the Virgin of Fatima, revered in the Chapel of the Apparitions, which calls for the human heart to be configured as God's own; the bead of the "Hail Holy Queen" is identified through the monogram of the Shrine of Fatima and the precious crown of the Image of Our Lady of Fatima; the Cross that completes the whole piece evokes the High Cross of the prayer area of the Shrine of Cova da Iria.
